Time Difference

Montenegro is one hour ahead of United Kingdom and the standard time is Eastern European Time (EET; UTC+02:00). Daylight saving time, which moves one hour ahead to UTC+03:00 is observed from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.

Money

The official currency of Montenegro is the euro. Credit cards are widely accepted throughout the country but only Bank of England issued bank notes are recognised or exchanged in Montenegro. Banks are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 3pm on Saturday. They are closed on public holidays.

Electricity

Montenegro operates on a 230V supply voltage and there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. While you won’t need a converter, you will need a travel adapter.

Shops and Amenities

Shops are open during the week from 8am/9am to 8pm/9pm - 3pm on Saturdays. They are sometimes open on Sunday morning. The usual museum hours are 9am to 4pm/5pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Montenegro has a range of daily and weekly newspaper publications, most notably the daily Pobjeda, Vijesti and Dan, with weekly publications from Monitor and sports paper Arena. Montenegro also has a range of television channels including Elmag RTV, IN TV and NTV Montena, offering news, sports and more.
