With temperatures hitting single digits and snow blanketing most of the country, a Japan February holiday is the perfect place to wrap up and enjoy some winter fun. With festivals and holidays galore, these celebratory events will keep you busy while exploring the country’s winter wonderland. Many Japanese people celebrate the changing seasons with special holidays that are tied to ancient Japanese folklore. The famous and loved is the Snow Festival (also known as Yuki Matsuri), which typically takes place in February to celebrate the arrival of spring with elaborate ice sculptures and snow-related activities such as sledging and skiing.
Japan's February holidays are a great time to visit, as crowds are small and you’ll find plenty of unoccupied onsens (hot springs) to warm your bones. If you're looking for something a little more energetic than soaking in hot water, take to the Japanese Alps with an experienced guide. The Japanese Alps are a vast mountain range filled with towering peaks, deep valleys and beautiful scenery. From traditional villages to modern ski resorts, these mountains are home to some of the best slopes in Japan.

Frances was always helpful and came up with great suggestions whilst filling in the brief we wanted. The hotels were spot on and all the booked tours and guides were fun and informative, and the concierge was always there to help us. Highlights included Takayama and Hiroshima but everything was really amazing - Japan is like no other country. The whole of the Original Team were outstanding, thank you for making it a very memorable and enjoyable holiday.
