Despite Japan’s predominantly Shinto and Buddhist origins, Easter celebrations are starting to sprout across the country like spring flowers. It might have taken a little longer to catch on than its Christmas counterpart, but Easter in Japan is nothing short of magical. From March to May, experience the spectacle of Sakura, or cherry blossom, which sees entire towns coated in powdery pink petals that fall from the trees like confetti. Of course, Japan Easter holidays aren’t just limited to plant growth. Whether it’s Easter egg hunting in one of the countless parks, like Shinjuku Gyoen in Tokyo,
sampling sweet Japanese treats like mochi and Meika Hiyoko (which is in the shape of a baby chick) or attending one of the many festivals (known as matsuri) during the spring and Easter period, Japan Easter holidays can supply a wealth of memorable activities.

Frances was always helpful and came up with great suggestions whilst filling in the brief we wanted. The hotels were spot on and all the booked tours and guides were fun and informative, and the concierge was always there to help us. Highlights included Takayama and Hiroshima but everything was really amazing - Japan is like no other country. The whole of the Original Team were outstanding, thank you for making it a very memorable and enjoyable holiday.
