We don't know about you but all of these Royal weddings are starting to make us at Original Travel UK feel rather romantic. With the upcoming wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on the 12th of October at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, we're catching a second round of Royal wedding fever which has inspired us to share some of our most unique luxury experiences that we can organise for couples on a romantic getaway across the UK and Ireland…

Couple in London

London

From horse riding around Hyde Park's beautiful Serpentine Lake to a private ride on the London Eye's Cupid Capsule (accompanied by champagne), we can arrange a completely bespoke itinerary for all couples visiting 'The Big Smoke'. And if you're not a fan of horses or heights, don't fret as London is home to a huge array of romantic experiences. A handful of our favourite experiences include an intimate dinner on board a private Venetian River Boat along the Thames, a private viewing of the Crown Jewels at The Tower of London, and a private foodie tour of Borough Market to name just a few…

Edinburgh old town

Edinburgh

Because Edinburgh is a relatively compact city, walking around on a romantic stroll (led by an expert local guide) is actually the best way to see most of it. This is especially true in the city's medieval Old Town, where narrow passages and alleys - or, in the local vernacular, closes (pronounced clo-zes) - run off both sides of the main street, like ribs from a spine. We can arrange a bespoke tour aimed at couples, concentrating on some of the city's most romantic stories, people and places. Stay at the five-star The Witchery, the perfect romantic place to dine and sleep, located right by the infamous Edinburgh Castle, of which we can arrange a private, pre-opening breakfast for two.

The Scottish Highlands

The Scottish Highlands

Enjoy a romantic, remote retreat hidden away in the Highlands as you explore some of Scotland's most breathtaking rural scenery. The Isle of Skye is one of Scotland's most iconic islands, famous for its stunning landscapes, excellent hiking and climbing, and wonderful wildlife including birds, otters, seals, whales and dolphins. Enjoy a romantic stay at The Three Chimneys with its five-star rooms and award-winning fresh local food. Back on the mainland, explore Loch Lomond in style on a private boat trip with champagne (of course), or for spectacular aerial views of the loch, why not take a romantic sea plane for a truly unique experience?

Rural England

Rural England

Get a taste of quintessential rural English life while exploring romantic country estates, national parks and wilderness reserves. Be warned, though, you may never want to leave. In Cornwall, explore the UK's most romantic gardens at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the stunning clifftop views that are a backdrop for the hit BBC romantic-drama Poldark. For literature lovers, visit Jane Austen's House Museum in Hampshire for a hit of classic 19th century romance before spending the night in a luxurious Cotswold treehouse for a spot of glamping at The Fish on The Farncombe Estate.

Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Ireland

Set sail on the only skippered motor boat in Ireland, travelling on Lough Derg aboard an Azul Yacht. Pass through local villages before reaching a private island with its very own 16th century castle where you'll enjoy a drinks reception and a traditional 16th century dinner, replicating the sort of food and drink that would've been served 500 years ago. If you're wanting to sweep your partner off their feet even more, explore the dramatic Cliffs of Moher that stretch over five miles of coastline while on a private helicopter ride overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. These really are some of the most breathtaking and romantic views that Ireland has to offer.
