Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

FLIGHT TO VENICE

Upon arrival in Venice, you’ll journey in style from the airport to the iconic and historic centre, where you’ll be spending the next three nights. Hop aboard your private water taxi and watch as the sprawling city comes into view. Once checked into your hotel, Venice is yours to discover; you can wander the labyrinthine streets in search of a bite to eat at Café Florian or take to the waters once more, with plenty of gondolas to hail. This evening brings fine dining options and an illuminated city that’s reflected perfectly in the calm waters.

DAY 2

DISCOVER VENICE WITH A PRIVATE GUIDE

It’s your first full day in Venice today and what better way to discover this captivating city than with a private guided tour. Kick things off in St. Mark's Square, where you’ll be able to admire the Procuratie (which are the three buildings connected to the Clock Tower), the imposing Byzantine Basilica dedicated to St Mark’s, the Bell Tower and the Library. You’ll then head to the Doge’s Palace, an incredible example of Gothic architecture that’s home to masterpieces created by some of the greats – we're talking Titian, Tintoretto and Guardi. We can even arrange a private after-hours experience behind the closed doors of the St. Mark’s Basilica, free from the tourist hordes, meaning you can wander the 12th century paving and appreciate the splendour at your leisure.

DAY 3

EXPLORE THE ISLAND OF SAN LAZZARO DEGLI ARMENI

This morning you’ll take a private transfer to the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni for a half day spent exploring. Discover the island’s convent, home to a museum, art gallery and full library with more than 150,000 volumes and manuscripts found on its shelves. There are also gardens to wander, where you’ll find the island's monks are championing a sense of peace and serenity. Head back to your private water taxi for a swift return to the mainland, where opera tickets await at La Fenice. This Venetian focal point has risen from the ashes twice, after being destroyed by fires, making its name, which translates as ‘the Phoenix’, an apt choice. Nowadays it welcomes an array of musical displays, all well worth the watch.

DAY 4

RETURN HOME

Sadly, it’s time to head home with a private boat taxi to transport you to the airport in time for your return flight.

Option

A private tour of the island of San Lazzaro deglie Armeni

Very close to the Lido, this small island (a former leper colony) was given in the 18th century to the Armenians, who, driven away by the Turks, established a convent there. The island was an important centre for the dissemination of Armenian culture. The convent houses a museum, a picture gallery, a unique printing press, and a rich library of more than 150,000 volumes, including a valuable collection of illuminated manuscripts. It also offers the visitor beautiful grounds to explore with its huge garden. As soon as the Vaporetto is docked, a nun guides visitors around the church, the refectory and the archives room where over 4,000 manuscripts are kept.

Option

St. Mark's Basilica outside of opening hours

After the doors have been closed to the public, St. Mark's Basilica has a second life and reveals its splendour free from the noise and crowds of the day: mosaics, the 12th century paving with animal and geometric motifs, and the altarpiece made with gold and precious stones fascinate church-goers and visitors. The Basilica is a remarkably rich and ornate treasure.
