After your long journey, spend the afternoon settling in and relaxing at your lodge. Enjoy a cooling dip in the pool, an early dinner and sundowners surrounded by wildlife. Then it's off to bed for a good night's sleep ready for the first full day of your luxury Zambia and Mozambique honeymoon tomorrow.
Days 2-7: Remote and Romantic Bushcamp Safaris
Kicking off your luxury Zambia and Mozambique honeymoon in style, the next five days of your trip will see you staying in different locations around Luangwa National Park in remote and romantic bush camps.
Set in the glorious natural surroundings of the park, the camps make the perfect base for an intimate and exclusive safari experience. Each one features stylish chalets, expert safari guides to accompany you into the bush, and the chance for abundant game viewing on walking safaris and traditional game drives.
Begin each day with a romantic morning walk in time to see the sunrise. This is a great time to truly immerse yourself in the park and observe the animals up-close. Accompanied by a guide, you'll get the chance to track wildlife - including giraffe, lion, elephant, zebra as well as the smaller creatures and bird life - explore the lagoons and the Luangwa River and learn about the medicinal properties of the park's plant life.
Return to the camp for a leisurely lunch and an afternoon siesta before setting off to explore more of the park, this time on a game drive which gives you the chance to cover more ground and enjoy plenty of wildlife encounters.
Come evening, enjoy a sumptuous dinner and sundowners under the stars. Then, if you've got the energy, set off on a night game drive to spot the park's nocturnal wildlife - including genets, civets, bushbabys and owls - or, if you'd prefer to unwind, stay at the camp for stargazing and more sundowners.
Day 8: Johannesburg Bound
Wave goodbye to the park today and pack your bags, ready for your flight to Johannesburg where you'll be spending the night. You'll be collected and transferred to Mfuwe Airport where you'll fly to Johannesburg via Lusaka, a journey that takes approximately six hours.
On arrival into the South African city, you'll be driven 30 minutes to your hotel. Set within a peaceful garden, complete with a quiet pool, the hotel's cottage-esque rooms make the perfect serene base after the excitement of your trip so far.
Spend the afternoon relaxing poolside and enjoying a delicious evening meal served up by the hotel's Michelin-starred chef, before retiring to your room for a well-earned early night.
Day 9: Welcome to Mozambique
The second part of your Zambia honeymoon begins today as you are transferred to the airport to catch your short one-hour-and-40-minute flight to Mozambique.
On arrival, you will be collected from the airport and driven 30 minutes to your hotel where you will be staying for the next five nights of your trip in a luxury beach-front hotel complete with sublime sea views and whimsical whitewashed rooms.
Day 10: Catamaran Cruising
For your first full day in Mozambique, you'll be hitting the water on a luxurious catamaran trip to the idyllic islands of the Bazaruto archipelago, known for their salt-white sand dunes and colourful coral reefs.
Spend the day living out your castaway fantasies as you snorkel over reefs teeming with exotic marine life, climb the sand dunes on Pansy Island and search for pansy shells along the beach. Tuck into a private island picnic on the sand bar for lunch before climbing back on board and boating back to the mainland, keeping your eyes peeled along the way for playful dolphins and rare dugong.
Days 11-13: Days at Leisure
For the final few days of your luxury Zambia and Mozambique honeymoon, slow it down with some dreamy days at leisure on the coast.
Honeymoons are all about spending lots of quality time with your other half and packing in plenty of pampering and you'll have oodles of time for both over the next few days. On the water, enjoy island-hopping boat trips, sunset sails aboard a traditional dhow boat and kayaking trips for two. Back on dry land, soak up the sun on the beach and if you fancy trotting into town, Vilankulos is a lovely place to spend an afternoon in with its delicious restaurants, bustling food markets and laid-back beach bars.
Back at the hotel, enjoy refreshing dips in the pool, indulgent wellness treatments in the spa and delicious dinners under the stars.
