The capital of Khanh Hoa province in south-central Vietnam, Nha Trang makes an ideal stop-off for a beach break between the sight-seeing of the country's north and south. The coast around Nha Trang is renowned for its miles of white-sand beaches and the town itself is built on a beautiful bay with a palm-lined beach stretching for miles in each direction. Offshore, numerous islands and coral reefs dot the turquoise waters and make for excellent diving and snorkelling. Keen divers should avoid December and January, as rougher weather makes for poor underwater visibility, but for most of the year
the climate is ideal because the region is sheltered by mountains to the west. This means Nha Trang holidays benefit from the region's micro-climate, which sees the lowest level of humidity in Vietnam, with some 250 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of around 26C. Besides the beach, there is picturesque scenery in the vicinity of Nha Trang, which can be explored on a guided tour or by mountain bike. Sights in the city include the Long Son Pagoda, with its huge statues of the Buddha, and the ancient Po Nagar temples. Nha Trang is renowned for its seafood, and there are many good restaurants and cafes along the beachfront, as well as lively bars in the evenings.

Nha Trang coastline holidays provide the ultimate beachy pitstop between north and south Vietnam. As the capital of the Khánh Hòa Province, Nha Trang has lots to offer those who want a Vietnamese coastal adventure. With 19 islands dotted along the coastline, it’s the ultimate spot to head out on a boat to explore the oasis of boulder-strewn beaches and jungle crusted peninsulas that fringe the shore. Grab a snorkel and hop off the boat to discover the local fish life, or head out with a dive guide for some of the most stellar scuba diving in Asia. After a day of island hopping, head to Hon Chong Beach or City Beach for a taste of some of Vietnam’s finest white sand beaches and relax with a traditional mojito in hand as the last slice of amber sun illuminates the beautiful rocky outcrops that are strewn across the horizon.
Safely secluded in a mountainous amphitheatre, Nha Trang is known for its sunny microclimate, unlike the rest of Vietnam with its more unpredictable weather. With 300 days of sunshine, as well as having the south China sea to the east and the undulating Dien Khanh area to the west, this stretch of crystal coastline is about way more than just beach retreats. History buffs should head into the city to explore Po Nagar tower, part of the 12th-century cham temple that has become a local landmark and must see when in the area. For the best views over the stunning scenery, ride the Vinpearl Cable Car which links Hon Tre Island with Nha Trang and is thought to be the longest cable car over the sea. Its Eiffel Tower like structures glisten in the sunshine and the lofty position provides epic views over the Nha Trang coast.
