West Coast Thai Beach Holidays: An Overview

Travel down the coast of Thailand and veer west for crystal clear waters and spectacular marine life that make it a favourite amongst divers and snorkelers, as well as miles of white sand beaches and magnificent scenery - the perfect setting for a luxury beach holiday.

Phuket, the largest island in Thailand, has a tropical climate and long beautiful stretches of coastline. The surrounding region also boasts some of the most magnificent scenery in Asia, and this diverse landscape is mountainous and heavily forested.

To the west of Phuket lies the Andaman Sea and the Similan Islands, while to the east lies the protected Gulf of Phuket, home to Phang Nga Bay and the beautiful islands of Koh Phi Phi. The islands make great day trip destinations by boat, and also offer superb diving. As well as stunning beaches, the hotels we have chosen on and around Phuket offer first-class accommodation and facilities such as watersports, tennis, spas and delicious Thai cuisine. Phuket also has a number of good golf courses, as well as the nightlife of Patong Beach.

On the mainland of Thailand sits Khao Lak, which boasts no less than three national parks and beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. It is also home to the Sarojin, a favourite of Original Travel's. The island of Koh Lanta is nearby. Less developed and more deserted, the beaches and rainforest are spectacular, and the odds of bumping into fellow beach-goers are favourable.
