Yangon is Myanmar's largest city, fast-developing and seemingly torn between its new high-rise builds and sprawling market stalls. The main draw is its faded colonial charm and of course the impressive gilded Shwedagon Pagoda. Yangon is often gridlocked with traffic and so is best explored on foot at a slower pace, giving you a chance to admire the old buildings and imagine how they would've been in their heyday.
