Unless you've been living in a cave these past couple of years you'll be aware of the rise of the MAMIL, or Middle Aged Man in Lycra, and his lady wife, MAWIL. The desire to get fit is, of course, entirely admirable, but sartorially speaking no-one has yet managed to style out the lycra cycle shorts look.
That's one of many, many reasons we're excited about the new partnership with our pals at IGO, creators of adventure quadrathlons in some of the world's most incredible wildernesses. There may be some lycra-clad cycling involved in some of the IGO challenges, but that's alongside cross-country skiing, kayaking, running and orienteering through some of the most dramatic landscapes Mother Nature can throw at you. When you do cross the finish line after four days of testing yourself to the limit, the sense of achievement will be something truly memorable. IGO NW05° Moroccan Challenge - October 2017
Beginning in the Agafay Desert and ending in the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, during IGO's Morocco Challenge competitors will bike across the desert, kayak, hop back on the bike through mountains and finish with a canyon run. Piece of cake, no? Rather conveniently, we work with some wonderful hotels in the Atlas Mountains, which are the perfect place to relax and unwind after your adventure. Conversely, head back to Marrakech and soak up the heady buzz of one of our favourite cities.
IGO W114° Montana Challenge - August 2017
Swim, mountain bike, run and kayak your way across the rather beautiful Glacier National Park in Montana, USA. Details of this trip are still being finalised but if you're in the market for a summer adventure, look no further. Upon completion, the possibilities are endless for where to explore - head north to British Columbia in Canada to hang out in hip Vancouver and discover the rugged wilderness and wildlife beyond. IGO N60° Norwegian Challenge - March 2017
For anyone in need of a post-Christmas challenge, IGO's 100 mile N60° Challenge sees competitors ski tour, fat bike, cross-country ski, and run through the heart of central Norway's snowy wilderness. And once the challenge is over, head north for a quintessential Norwegian experience - we can arrange a Northern Norway holiday jam-packed with amazing activities including dog-sledding, snowmobiling and meeting the indigenous Sami people. We also work with a selection of lovely boutique hotels in the area so you can pamper yourself post-IGO. You may even see the Northern Lights...
